L.M. Bogad, The Center for Tactical Performance, Berkeley, CA

Bogad (Professor of political performance, U.C. Davis), a co-founder of the Clown Army, has performed and led workshops recently in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Catalonia, Latvia, Mexico, and Egypt. He was “Art and Controversy” Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University, and “Humanities and Political Conflict” Fellow at ASU, and works with activist organizations to bring theatricality and creativity to their campaigns. Bogad’s performances excavate and explore the memories of historical confrontations including the Haymarket Square Riot, the Spanish Civil War, the Pinochet coup, and the FBI’s COINTELPRO activities. His books are Electoral Guerrilla Theatre, Tactical Performance, COINTELSHOW: A Patriot Act, and Infectious Dissent.
